History


Çukurova Holding was founded in the first half of the 1980s as Kaplamin A.Ş. entered into with corrugated cardboard box industry, it has become the leading company in expanding the capacity of Turkey in subsequent years. Towards the end of the 1980s, Selkasan A.Ş. with corrugated cardboard (such as flutting, test liner, imitation kraft paper). In the mid-1990s, it strengthened its sector with Ova Oluklu in Tarsus and Yalova Ambalaj in Yalova in order to get more shares from the corrugated cardboard market. In the early 1990's Selkasan A.Ş. Çukurova Holding established Atkasan A.Ş. in 1996, exclusively related to scrap paper, taking into account the inadequacy in the scrap paper market, which is the main raw material. Çukurova paper group in order to be more effective in the global market, partnered with the leading paper group in Europe, SCA Packaging International B.V. in the first half of the 90's. Depending on this partnership, Atkasan A.Ş. has increased its market share gradually and has become a leading company in the sector. In 2012, SCA sold its shares in the global market to DS Smith Plc., Europe's leading company in the industry. In this context shares of DS Smith is also in Turkey. DS Smith withdrawn from the Turkey market and mid-2015 has passed all of the shares of Cukurova Holding. As of the beginning of 2016, Atkasan A.Ş. within the Çukurova Paper and Packaging Group continues its activities.

Our group company, Selkasan A.Ş., produces an average of 180,000 tons of paper / cardboard waste annually. by Selkasan A.Ş. Along with the Granule and Wooden Pallet Recycling facilities investment completed in 2018, recycling of plastic wastes and wooden pallets is carried out. Wastes other than these are sent to licensed recycling companies and recycled to the economy.
Developing new lines of activity for an integrated waste management as well as recycling packaging wastes, Atkasan obtains a hazardous waste transportation license, ensuring that hazardous wastes, which are particularly important for the industry, are transported to appropriate licensed recycling facilities.
Atkasan, which started integrated waste management studies since 2005, in accordance with the Environmental Legislation, T.C. It has received an Environmental Consultancy Competency Certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and has accelerated its work in this direction.
Atkasan, which operates with its professional team, equipment and vehicle park in waste collection; Izmir and Manisa plant to serve every region of Turkey.
Within the scope of the Regulation on Control of Packaging Wastes, it carries out the projects of collecting packaging wastes separately at the source as a licensed collection-sorting company with many municipalities and authorized organizations.
With the understanding of quality service, Atkasan A.Ş. It continues its activities with ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 45001: 2019 certificates.
